Hairmax and PRP Together for Enhanced Results

Hairmax laser therapy and PRP therapy - a winning combination of techniques in the fight against hair loss. One of the main trends of modern life is a healthy lifestyle. Hence, there is such a great interest in the use of natural components in medicine, the emphasis on activating the resources of the body itself.

This also explains the huge popularity in trichology of two physiological methods using the body's own forces and natural influences, such as light and one's own blood - Hairmax laser therapy and PRP therapy. Let's see how these methods, and their combination, effectively treat hair loss.

The hair follicle is a small organ that retains the ability to self-renew. To start each new hair growth cycle, the stem cells of the follicle must receive a signal (the Growth Signal) to start dividing. The same thing happens after the hair regrowth period - the cells stop dividing under the influence of certain growth factors and the hair falls out.

With age, or for many other reasons, the amount or balance of growth factors changes and hair begins to fall out prematurely, its growth slows down, or it does not grow at all. Almost always, with any type of non-scarring alopecia, PRP therapy is relevant. What is the principle of its action on the hair follicle?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma with a higher than normal concentration of platelets. Platelets are blood cells and a rich source of their own growth factors. The  growth factors are released into the extracellular environment and stimulate the vital processes of the hair.

One of them promotes the activation of hair follicle stem cells and the birth of a new hair to replace the fallen one.The second - improve blood circulation around the hair follicle, the third - stimulate hair growth, the fourth - stop their loss.

How is platelet-rich plasma obtained, how is an increased number of platelets in normal plasma achieved? Today, there are many methods for obtaining PRP, from manual to partially or fully automated. Despite all the diversity, they are based on one general principle: to obtain a platelet concentrate, the patient's a small amount of blood is taken into a test tube with an anticoagulant and centrifuged: once or twice (more efficiently), followed by activation of platelets to secrete growth factors. Once the platelets are activated, the doctor has 5-8 minutes to deliver the plasma with a high concentration of growth factors to the hair follicles by injection into the scalp.

I’ll explain right away, why when I talk about LLLT, I mean Hairmax laser devices. The answer is obvious - because this company has been on the market for 20 years, has 8 FDA approvals, 7 clinical studies, 6 articles in medical journals, 14 international licenses for medical equipment. After 9 years of using Hairmax lasers in my clinical practice, they have never failed.

A good hair laser is like light for plants. Under its influence, the cells of the hair follicle accumulate the energy necessary for the growth of strong healthy hair from the empty follicles, the amount of oxygen and nutrients increases, the removal of unwanted DHT substances is accelerated and, as a result, inflammation in the hair follicle is eliminated, the natural cycle of hair growth is restored, hair grow thicker and more viable. Treatment is convenient with  only the treatments a week are required, for at least 90 seconds 3 times a week.

As you can see, the combination of Hairmax laser therapy with PRP therapy seems to be ideal for treating hair loss and thinning, deteriorating hair quality and growth rate.

Moreover, there is no drugs needed in this treatment, there are no side effects and, importantly, compliance with such therapy is not difficult. Plasma is injected once every 4-6 weeks.

In conclusion, I want to remind you – it is important to know that, sometimes there are contraindications to this treatment regimen  so the last word is always to see a  specialist. Only a specialist, after consultation and diagnosis, will accurately determine which treatment protocol is ideal for your situation.

Be healthy!
